What HeyComps Wix is and how it works
What is HeyComps Wix?
HeyComps Wix lets you run prize competitions on your Wix store. You create competitions, embed them on your Wix pages, collect entries, draw a winner randomly, and collect the winner's delivery address — all from within your Wix dashboard.
The two dashboards explained
HeyComps Wix gives you access to two dashboards — each serves a different purpose:
Found inside your Wix account at Wix Dashboard → Apps → HeyComps. This is where you create and manage competitions day to day.
- Create, edit, publish and close competitions
- View entries and draw winners
- Get embed codes for your Wix pages
- Send winner notification emails
- View winner delivery addresses
Found at heycomps.com/wix/dashboard. This is your account management hub.
- See an overview of all your competitions and stats
- View your current plan and trial status

- Manage billing, cancel subscription, view invoices
- View your account details
Creating a competition
Step by step guide to setting up your first competition
Open the HeyComps Wix App
In your Wix account go to Dashboard → Apps → HeyComps. The HeyComps dashboard will load inside your Wix panel showing all your competitions.
Click the + New competition button in the top right corner.
Choose your prize source
You can set up your prize in two ways:
Type in the prize name, description and value yourself. Use this for any prize that isn't a product in your Wix store.
Browse and select products directly from your Wix store. You can select multiple products for the same competition — the prize value is calculated automatically. Great for bundled prizes.
Fill in the competition details
Complete all the fields for your competition:
- Competition title — shown on the competition page headline
- Prize name — what the winner receives (e.g. "Nike Air Max Trainers")
- Competition description — optional extra detail about the prize
- Prize value — shown as "Worth £X" on the competition page
- Banner image — click 📁 Upload image to upload directly, or paste a URL. Recommended size: 1200×600px
- Start date — leave blank to go live immediately when published
- End date — when the competition closes and no more entries are accepted
- Max entries — optional limit on total entries (Starter plan: 500 max)
Add Terms & Conditions
You should always include competition T&Cs. You have two options:
- T&Cs URL — link to a page on your website with your full terms. Need help writing them? Use the HeyComps T&C Generator →
- T&Cs text — paste a short summary of your key terms directly into the form
Both will appear on the competition page for entrants to read.
Publish your competition
When you're happy with everything, click Create competition. Your competition is saved as a draft.
To make it live, click Manage on the competition then click Publish. The competition is now active and will show on your Wix site once you've added the embed code (see next section).
Starter plan: up to 5 simultaneously active competitions. Pro plan: unlimited. You can have as many draft or closed competitions as you like on any plan.

How to show your competition on any page of your Wix website
Get your embed code
In the HeyComps Wix App Dashboard, click Manage on your competition. Scroll down to the Embed on your Wix site section and click 📋 Copy embed code.
The code looks like this:
Create a new page in Wix
In your Wix Editor, click Pages in the left sidebar → Add Page → choose Blank Page. Give it a name like Win a Prize.
This becomes part of the page URL, for example: yoursite.com/win-a-prize
Add an HTML Embed element
On your new page click Add Elements → Embed Code → Embed HTML. An HTML embed box appears on the page. Stretch it to fill the full width of the page.
Paste your code and publish
Click the HTML embed element → paste your embed code into the text box → click Update. Your competition will appear in the preview. Click Publish in the top right of the Wix editor.
Your competition page is now live! Note the full URL of this page (e.g. https://yourstore.com/win-a-prize) — you'll need it in the next step.
Save your competition page URL
Go back to the HeyComps Wix App Dashboard → Manage on your competition. At the top you'll see a yellow box: Important! 📍 Add Your competition page URL.
Paste your Wix competition page URL (e.g. https://yourstore.com/win-a-prize) into this field and click Save.
When your winner is drawn, HeyComps generates a pre-written winner notification email with a unique secure link. If you've saved your competition page URL here, this link will take the winner directly to your own website where they can submit their delivery address — rather than an external URL. This keeps everything on your trusted store domain.
The Wix App Dashboard
Managing your competitions inside Wix
Dashboard overview
The Wix App Dashboard is your main competition management tool. Access it via Wix Dashboard → Apps → HeyComps. Here's what you can do:
- Draft — created but not yet published. Only you can see it.
- Active — live and accepting entries on your site.
- Closed — no longer accepting entries. Winner has been drawn.
- Cancelled — competition was cancelled before closing.
- Manage — opens the full competition detail panel
- ✏️ Edit — edit competition details (draft: all fields; active: title, dates, T&Cs)
- Publish / Unpublish — make live or take offline
- 👥 View entries — see all entrants with name, email, date, and winner badge
- ⬇ Export CSV — download all entries as a spreadsheet
- Close & draw winner — ends the competition and randomly selects a winner
The plan badge and upgrade button
In the top right of the Wix App Dashboard you'll always see your current plan status:
- Trial badge — shown during your 14-day free trial with a countdown
- Starter or Pro badge — shown when you're on a paid plan
- ⬆ Upgrade button — click to upgrade or change your plan at any time
There's also a HeyComps Dashboard ↗ link in the top bar that takes you to your HeyComps Vendor Dashboard for billing and account management.

Accessing the Vendor Dashboard
Visit heycomps.com/wix/dashboard or click HeyComps Dashboard ↗ in the Wix App Dashboard top bar. Your account is linked automatically — no separate login needed.
If you haven't installed the Wix app yet, you'll see a banner: "Install HeyComps on your Wix store to start your 14-day free trial". Click the install button, install the app on your Wix site, then return here — your account will be connected automatically.
What's in the Vendor Dashboard
- Stats overview — active competitions, total entries, total competitions
- Competitions table — view all your competitions with status, entries, prize value and end date. Filter by All / Active / Draft / Closed
- Recent entries — latest people who entered your competitions
- Closing soon — competitions ending in the next few days, with urgency indicators
- Winners awaiting address — closed competitions where the winner hasn't yet submitted their delivery address
- Your Plan panel — current plan, trial end date, plan limits, and upgrade button
- 💳 Manage billing & invoices — opens Stripe portal to manage subscription, cancel, update payment method, and download invoices
- Account & Settings — your store name, email, store URL and member since date

The winner notification email template
Here's what the pre-written winner email looks like when you copy it from the dashboard:
- Replace [Your name / store name] with your actual name or business name
- Make sure you've saved your competition page URL in the Manage panel (yellow box at the top) so the link goes to your own Wix site
- Find the winner's email address in 👥 View entries
Finding the winner's email address
To find who won and get their email address:
- In the Wix App Dashboard, click Manage on the closed competition
- Click 👥 View entries (X) in the footer
- The entries table shows all entrants — the winner has a 🏆 Winner badge next to their name
- Copy their email address from the table
- Alternatively click ⬇ Export CSV to download all entries including the winner
Trial & billing
Understanding your plan, trial period, and how to manage payments
Your 14-day free trial
When you install HeyComps on your Wix store, you automatically get a 14-day free trial with full access to all features — no credit card required.
- Unlimited active competitions
- Unlimited entries per competition
- Full winner flow — draw winner, collect delivery address
- Entry admin and CSV export
- Banner image upload
- T&Cs and all other features
A countdown in the Wix App Dashboard top bar shows how many trial days you have remaining. When your trial ends, competitions can no longer be published or accept new entries until you upgrade.
Choosing a plan
After your trial, choose the plan that suits your needs:

How to upgrade
You can upgrade from either dashboard:
- Wix App Dashboard — click the ⬆ Upgrade button in the top bar
- Vendor Dashboard — click ⬆ Upgrade now in the Your Plan panel
Both open the upgrade modal where you select Starter or Pro, choose monthly or annual billing, then pay securely via Stripe. Your plan activates instantly after payment.
Managing your billing
Go to the HeyComps Vendor Dashboard → Your Plan panel → click 💳 Manage billing & invoices.
This opens the Stripe billing portal where you can:
- View your current subscription and next billing date
- Download invoices and payment receipts
- Update your payment method
- Cancel your subscription
- Upgrade or downgrade your plan
You can cancel at any time via the billing portal. After cancelling, your plan remains active until the end of your current billing period, then reverts to expired. Your competition data is kept safe and you can resubscribe at any time.

Common questions and how to get help
Frequently asked questions
This usually means the competition hasn't been published yet (it's still a draft), or the embed code is missing the instance_id parameter. Always use the embed code from the Manage panel in the HeyComps dashboard — don't type it manually. Make sure the competition is published (status shows Active).
The claim link expires after 30 days. If the winner's link has expired, contact support@heycomps.com and we can generate a new one. Also make sure you've saved the competition page URL in the Manage panel yellow box — otherwise the link points to an external URL which may look unfamiliar to the winner.
On the Starter plan you can have up to 5 simultaneously active competitions. If you've reached this limit, either close an existing competition or upgrade to Pro for unlimited simultaneous competitions. You can upgrade via the ⬆ Upgrade button in the dashboard.
Click Manage on the competition then click ✏️ Edit details. When a competition is active, you can edit the title, description, banner image, dates, max entries, and T&Cs. Prize details are locked once a competition is published to prevent misleading entrants.
Click Manage on the closed competition → click 👥 View entries. The winner has a 🏆 badge next to their name. Their email is in the Email column. You can also click Export CSV to download all entries.
Go to Manage on the closed competition → click View winner & delivery address. The full address including name, address lines, city, postcode and country will be displayed.
When your trial ends, your competitions are preserved but can no longer accept new entries and you cannot publish new ones. Your existing data (entries, winner addresses) is kept safe. Upgrade at any time to resume accepting entries.
Go to the HeyComps Vendor Dashboard at heycomps.com/wix/dashboard → Your Plan panel → click 💳 Manage billing & invoices → click Cancel subscription in the Stripe portal.
Yes. Starter plan allows up to 5 simultaneously active competitions. Pro allows unlimited. You can create as many draft competitions as you like on any plan.
The winner is chosen randomly from all valid entries using a cryptographically secure random selection — every entrant has an equal chance of winning. HeyComps does not weight entries or allow the same person to enter multiple times.
